Market Animal Tagging/Validation 2022:
- Market animals will tagged by the exhibitor. There will be no validation sites.
Below is a timeline on market cattle tagging and further down the page
on small animal (sheep, swine and goats).
Market Cattle:
- 4-H Exhibitors are expected to have their 6 hours of educational training. Mallory Trenkamp (State Fair) will then send a sheet with all 4-H exhibitors within your county to verify that those exhibitors completed their educational requirements on time. *Feeder Calf Exhibitors will need to obtain an EID tag (See your local
vet) or Premise ID tag for their Feeder Calf Project. These are often
referred to as “840 tags”.

Reminder: A small animal species will only qualify for the Kentucky State Fair
if it has completed during a species specific (swine, sheep, goat) class
at a KDA District Show or Kentucky Junior Livestock Expo.
